The British Treasury completely freezes Hezbollah's assets

Lebanese Hezbollah is included in the lists of terrorism

On Friday, the British Treasury announced that it had included Lebanese Hezbollah militia under the 2010 Freezing Assets of Terrorist Assets Act.

The British Treasury, in a statement on its website, said that, starting on Thursday, 16 January, it had fully incorporated Hezbollah (with its political and military wings) under the Freezing Act of Terrorist Assets.

Previously, only Hezbollah's military wing had been the target of freezing assets under British government rules.

The United States also classifies Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, and imposes numerous sanctions on individuals and companies supporting it.

The US Treasury says, "The sanctions have proven their results and have forbidden Hizballah huge sums of money, which has put him in a financial crisis, which has resulted in a decline in his ability to secure the funds necessary to manage his conditions."

And she notes, "Hezbollah threatens Lebanon, the Lebanese, and democracy in the country and has terrorist activities around the world."
