The international coalition against ISIS announced, Thursday, the suspension of its military activities in Iraq, to focus on protecting Iraqi bases hosting the coalition members.


In a statement, published by the US-led coalition, on its official Twitter page: "The activities that have been suspended include training with partners and supporting their operations against ISIS."


The statement continued: "Although military activities are suspended at the present time, (other) activities continue naturally, including combating harmful ISIS propaganda, stabilizing and disrupting funding."

He added: "We are awaiting further clarification regarding the legal nature and impact of the decision on foreign forces, which are no longer allowed to stay in Iraq, which was approved by the Iraqi parliament on Sunday, January 5."

He concluded, "We believe that it is in the common interests of all coalition partners, including Iraq, to ​​continue fighting against ISIS."
