FIFA is considering imposing "severe" restrictions on loaning players

The decision will take effect from next season.

FIFA plans to impose "severe" restrictions on the number of players that one club is eligible to lend as of this season.

Under the new restrictions from the FIFA, the number of loaned players will be reduced to only 8, to be reduced again in the next season 2020-2021 to 7 players, then 6 players in the next season 2021-2022.

Some European clubs have used the loan system to keep a large number of promising young talents in their records, giving them the opportunity to play games with the first team in foreign clubs, and may then sell them for a greater price.

In this way, the FIFA project will reduce the number of transfers for international players for the next season, according to "AS" quoted by the newspaper "Sport".

Clubs will be officially notified of this measure, and it will become effective from next season for players who are over 22 years old, i.e. after they are formed, and without the need for many secondments to flourish their careers.

With this new rule, FIFA wants to gradually clamp down on clubs that bring in African players who have been separated from their families at a young age.
